Detailed User Guide For DR.Fone for iOS
Get back data from iPhone 6/Plus/5S/5C/5/4S/4/3GS/3G, all iPads and iPod touch 5/4, and also recover previous files by extracting iTunes and iCloud backups.
Here are the steps in order to recover data from an iOS Device:
Step 1. Connect your iOS Device to the Computer
Go ahead and launch the Wondershare Dr. Fone For iOS when the device is connected. The USB cable that comes with your iOS device should be the one to connect your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch to the personal computer. The Wondershare Dr. Fone for the iOS device should automatically detect the device by default and a pop-up screen should come up when that happens. A window will appear to “Recover data from iOS device“.
Some Tips to think about: Before double-clicking and running the Wondershare Dr. Fone software for the iOS, check your iTunes and see if you have the latest version. If not, it will be best to update and download it first before connecting your iOS device. To avoid your iOS device from syncing automatically, do not launch iTunes when you run Wondershare Dr. Fone for the iOS devices. You may either manually terminate the iTunes program, or do it inside the iTunes by opening it, going to Preferences, clicking on Devices, check the box that says “Prevent iPhones, iPads and iPods from syncing automatically”. Exit iTunes and you should be good to go.
If you have an iPhone 4, iPad 1, iPod Touch 4, or an iPhone 3GS, you may switch to “Advanced Mode” by pushing the button on the lower right part. Follow the instructions shown on the window to get to the device scanning mode. Hold your device and press on the Start button, hold and press the Home and Power button at the same time for 10 seconds, release your hold on the Power button but keep on pressing on the Home button.
Step 2. Scan and Search your Device for Lost Data
Click on the “Start Scan” button to initiate the program’s search for any lost or deleted data in your iPod touch, iPhone or iPad. The scanning process is completely automated and may take a few minutes and it depends on the amount of data in your iOS device. During the scan, any data that may have been lost or deleted will show up immediately, so if you see that data is the one you were searching for, an option to “Pause” is available in the software. Click on it and the process is temporarily stopped.
Step 3. Check the Scanned Data
The scan takes some time to finish. When it is finally complete, a scan result will show up. Data that is existing or lost will be displayed in their respective categories. To concentrate and filter out only the deleted parts of the data, swipe the “Only Display Deleted Items” to ON, and clicking on each file type on the left part, any found data will be previewed. There is also a search box option on the top rightmost part of the window, and you can search by keyword for a specific file that you wish to recover.
Step 4. Recover Lost or Deleted Data from Your iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad
When the data that you need is found, click on the check mark beside the files to select them. Click on the “Recover” button or link at the bottom right part. The program will automatically save the data to your computer. Recovered iMessages, notes, contacts or text messages can be saved to either the iOS device or computer, and the software will ask you where you wish to save it. If you wish to restore them directly to your iOS device, simply click on “Recover to Device“.
